Your mission today is to make a script for a Haka commercial with the footage we have of Nic. You are to write the intro (announcer voice) and any subsequent text to encourage the different classes to do a haka cheer at the pep rally. Funny is good. Friendly competition is good. Be creative. 10 points.

Click here for five shots you need on each project. Not required on this project as we do not have them all. But be thinking about what is missing from the video of Nic and remember that you will be using the five shots method in the future.

Now, start planning your news package. Write up a proposal AND ten questions you will ask. As you interview you must remain fluid and agile on your feet. LISTEN to the answers. Do not talk over your subject (it is very difficult to cut your voice out later).

Watch some of the videos below on some different kinds of shots and different ways to shoot. Then, come up in a group of 4 to check out a camera and try to get examples of at least 5 of these types of shots. We aren’t editing these, but you will be showing me your best 5 examples (you should probably get more than 5).

Pay attention to use of audio. This is not a slide show but look how they gathered B-roll. Who is the first designer we see? Why should we know her?

Today, you need to explore some of the posts I have gathered over the years. Put on headphones and start digging in this blog. I want you to take notes of things you find that are interesting, whether how to build a steadicam or how to make something funny in a video.

You will turn your notes in for a grade at the end of the period. Happy exploring!
