August 29 -- We start editing today

Your mission is to edit a two-minute video on eligibility and how you study. I don't expect you to be a genius at this if you are new to editing. This is to get your feet wet.

Cut out all weird sounds and try to make your subjects look good and smart. Remember your audience is everyone from Mr. Rubens to the newest freshman. You are setting a tone. The administration really wants our eligibility rate to get higher (currently, we have 40% of our students unable to participate in school activities because their grades are too low).

One of these is going to air on Monday.

Aug. 27 -- Objective today

Today we are going to begin interviewing each other. Choose a partner and find out three interesting things about them. Remember, most of your job is going to be finding things that are of interest to your audience.

You will have five minutes to get to know your partner. Take notes. You will have to report out at the end of class. Notes must be turned in for credit.

You may be nervous now, but a big part of doing well in media is being able to talk to people.
